Introduction

Organizational Studies is a Bachelor program taught at Pitzer College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Organizational Studies major at Pitzer College gives students tools to study administrative, economic, political, sociological, and other factors that affect collective human systems. Students study how organizations operate, how they affect society, and how they are created, maintained, and changed. The major also guides students to investigate an area of interest through field experience or research, with example themes such as public health, arts management, women and work, and labor studies.

The major is structured around breadth, core, and depth requirements using 12 courses grouped from different areas.

Students take four breadth courses, five core courses (including Organizational Theory, Organizational Behavior, and Research in Organizations, plus additional upper-level Organizational Studies classes), and three depth courses that form a theme or extend work in a breadth field.

The program is also offered to incarcerated students through Pitzer’s Inside-Out Program, and Pitzer partners with Claremont Graduate University for an accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s of Information Science pathway.
