Introduction

Aviation Science - Pilot is a Bachelor program taught at Schenectady County Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

The Aviation Science A.S. degree program offers a pilot option or a non-pilot administration and management option. In the pilot option, students build a foundation in basic science and mathematics principles and in aviation theory and practice, including safety and management. The program prepares graduates to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program in aviation.

With the pilot option, students receive substantial experience in actual flight training toward a Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, and a Commercial Pilot Certificate alongside the A.S. degree. Flight laboratories are provided by Five Star Flight Academy at the Schenectady County Airport. Students also use a STEM Aviation Laboratory with 18 flight simulators. Pilot students train with various aircraft while Air Traffic Control students control airspace online, and the groups are networked to simulate airspace interactions in real time.
