Introduction

Air Traffic Control - Enhanced AT-CTI is a Diploma program taught at Schenectady County Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

Enhanced Air Traffic Control leads to an Associate degree in Air Traffic Control with Enhanced Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) status with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Students build a foundation in Air Traffic Control basics and skills for the continuous safe flow of aircraft in the airspace system, handling normal and emergency situations through simulated scenarios, one-on-one individualized training, and team training.

Training uses ATC simulators and tools including seven 75” monitors for tower immersion, three ATC Tower stations, four radar TRACON stations, and seven Remote Pilot stations with real human-voice responses. Students also use ATSpeak voice-recognition software with AI aircraft, voice-phraseology training and testing on iPads, and UFA hardware and software. The FAA academy curriculum supports the program’s ATC training.
