Bachelor's in Theatre Arts

Theatre Arts is a Bachelor program taught at Sierra College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Theatre Arts at Sierra College helps students study theatre production and performance. Students learn aspects of production including performance, lighting, costumes, make-up, and sound, and can also learn scene painting and stage management. The program includes Theatre Arts for Transfer (Associate of Arts for Transfer), which focuses on Western theatre history, performance analysis, clear oral and written communication, effective collaboration, and participating in a theatrical production.

Sierra College also offers Theatre Arts at the Associate of Arts level, which prepares students for professional employment, upper division study in the theatrical arts, and participation in the theatre and entertainment community. Technical theatre options include Stagecraft – Skills Certificate, which trains students to build scenery and properties and gain experience with construction, painting, hanging lighting instruments, and backstage work. Costuming – Skills Certificate helps students build period costumes and create visual characters.

After graduation, Theatre Arts majors work in teaching, acting, and entertainment, and can find roles such as directors, producers, playwrights, actors, drama therapists, theatre teachers, set designers, broadcasters, screenwriters, stage managers, and stage technicians. The training also includes preparation for work that supports design of a show and assistant lighting design.

The minimum requirements for admission in Theatre Arts at Sierra College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Sierra College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Sierra College as pre-requiste for admission in Theatre Arts.
