Computer Information Technology
Introduction

Computer Information Technology at Sinclair Community College covers operating systems, networking fundamentals, network architecture, routing and switching, network security, and Windows and Linux administration. You also study IoT concepts through courses such as IoT Fundamentals and IoT Architecture, and you cover cloud infrastructure with Cloud Infrastructure. Cybersecurity topics appear across the curriculum, including Digital Thread Cyber Security, Basic Firewall Security, and Network Security.
The program is organized through credit-hour courses that include classroom instruction and practical labs. The capstone uses project-based activities and includes oral and written presentations plus a professional growth plan, taken in the last term prior to graduation. The program also includes an internship option for academic credit, completed at an approved site with supervision and mentorship from a professional.
