Interior Design

Interior Design is a program taught at Sinclair Community College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Interior Design at Sinclair Community College is built around studio-style design coursework and supporting classes in history, materials, and visual development. Students examine the stylistic development of interior design, domestic furniture and furnishings, and apply design process work in residential and non-residential settings. The curriculum also covers color theory, including Josef Albers color theory, and the use of materials and textiles in interior design.

Instruction includes classroom and lab time in multiple courses. Several courses specify “Two classroom, four lab hours per week,” including Residential Design, Non-Residential Design, Interior Building Systems and Design, Interior Design Portfolio, and Kitchen & Bath Design. Students develop technical and presentation skills through Rendering, 3D Modeling, and the creation of an Interior Design Portfolio.
