Introduction

Art History is a Bachelor program taught at State University of New York at Binghamton, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Art History program at State University of New York at Binghamton introduces students to the visual culture of humankind through time.

Students study works of art as objects shaped by space and color, and as cultural artifacts with a history and function within their societies, linked to other forms of cultural production. The department offers two tracks: art history, and architecture and urban studies.

The art history track prepares majors for scholarly and professional work in the art world, including advanced graduate study and professional museum and gallery work. The architecture and urban studies track prepares majors for graduate work in art history and architecture, or for professional work such as historic preservation.

Students can complete a BA in Art History and a BA in Art History: Architecture and Urban Studies, as well as a minor in Art History. Art history internships range from national to local and focus on arts conservation, curation, and arts management. There is also an art history honors program. After graduation, students are prepared for advanced graduate work in art and architectural history and for professions across related fields.
