Introduction

Biochemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Stonehill College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Biochemistry program at Stonehill College combines biology and chemistry. It focuses on biomolecules and their three-dimensional structures, enzymatic catalysis and regulation of biochemical reactions, and metabolic reactions for synthesizing and breaking down biomolecules with an emphasis on bioenergetics. It is designed to support graduate study in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and biotechnology, or admission to professional school.

Students study on campus with a learn-by-doing emphasis. Faculty teach all labs from start to finish, creating a supported learning environment for skills used during and after college. A biology or chemistry faculty advisor guides students on questions and decisions during their time at Stonehill. Students also take part in Peer-Led Team Learning meetings and use Atrium Tutors in the Shields Science Center’s Pettit Atrium, assigned for their first two years.
