Introduction

Chemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Stonehill College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Chemistry Major & Minor at Stonehill College offers undergraduate degrees including a B.S. in Chemistry, a B.A. in Chemistry, a Chemistry B.A./Chemical Engineering B.S. dual degree, and a Chemistry minor. Students study traditional chemical disciplines and, through the B.S. or B.A., can prepare for graduate school, industrial employment, or professional school paths. The B.A. also supports combining chemistry with another discipline such as education.

Study is on campus. The first semester of chemistry is a theme-based course with lecture and lab integrated into a cohesive experience taught by one professor. After one semester of General Chemistry, students take a two-semester sequence of Organic Chemistry, followed by Inorganic Chemistry for some chemistry and biochemistry majors. Juniors and seniors meet with the entire faculty every week for Seminar, with spring thesis presentations based on original research.

Graduates can move into entry-level chemistry roles such as research associate, quality control chemist, and environmental and regulatory compliance chemist. The program also leads to graduate and professional school placements for more than half of chemistry and biochemistry graduates. Chemistry labs are offered in both the morning and the afternoon, supporting students balancing science with other commitments.
