Introduction

Ecology is a Bachelor program taught at Susquehanna University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Ecology at Susquehanna University is a biology program focused on how organisms interact with each other and their environment. Students take courses in biology and environmental sciences, with field and lab projects that include a research project with faculty. The program includes a year-long collaborative research project, followed by presenting research at a scientific conference.

Learning takes place through hands-on work at the CEER Field Station, an 87-acre living lab. Students conduct fieldwork and lab studies that include geophysics, monitoring water tables, and working with solar arrays and climate stations. Students also do activities such as tilling and planting in the campus garden and learning beekeeping to support bee conservation.

Ecology students gain practical experience through internships that connect classroom learning to career-ready skills, including work involving GIS, fieldwork, and environmental consulting. Internships include building nature trails with the Chesapeake Conservancy and conducting research for the Freshwater Institute and Laboratory. Students are paired with an advisor and an application tool to guide course planning and scheduling.
