Introduction

Early Childhood Education is a Bachelor program taught at Trinity College (DC), USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Early Childhood Education, A.A. prepares students to work with children birth to age eight and meets D.C. child care regulatory requirements. Students prepare for Trinity’s Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and the Bachelor of Arts in Community Education in ECE. The program focuses on how children develop, how to work with families, foundations of how young children learn, strategies for language and literacy, and techniques for observing and assessing growth.

Learning includes applied foundational knowledge and field-based experiences. Students also learn to recognize and adapt to students’ needs, interests, and readiness levels using innovative, research-based pedagogical practices. The program includes local internships. Students who already work in an early learning site may often use their employing site as their field experience setting for courses requiring an internship.
