Introduction

PhD Materials Science and Engineering Degrees is a PhD program taught at University of North Texas, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (7-8 years) options.

This combined B.S./Ph. D. program in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas trains students in both materials science and engineering. Undergraduate study focuses on how nano and microscopic structures relate to macroscopic properties, and how those relationships support processing and determining the properties of a finished product. The Doctor of Philosophy degree is completed through independent research that culminates in a dissertation of original scientific merit.

Training is delivered on campus in the College of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The program has an estimated time to complete of 7-8 years and requires 192 credit hours. Coursework includes Materials Selection and Performance, Electrical, Optical and Magnetic Properties of Materials, and Thermodynamics of Materials, alongside research leading to the Ph. D. dissertation.
