Introduction
Engineering Science and Mechanics is a Bachelor program taught at Virginia Tech, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) uses fundamental principles to develop engineering solutions to contemporary problems in the physical and life sciences. Students learn not only what engineering is, but also how and why engineering approaches are used, applying knowledge of science and mathematics to solve engineering problems.
ESM students work in small groups in laboratories and select electives to focus on areas such as biomechanics, developing energy solutions, and advanced materials, including nanotechnology.
The program is offered as a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy, and it belongs to the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.
