The Computing Sciences master’s programme offers majors taught in English and Finnish in automation technology, telecommunications technology, information technology, and information systems science. The English-taught majors are Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, Automation and Robotics, and Sustainable and Autonomous Systems. The Finnish study tracks are Automaatio ja tietotekniikka and Tietojärjestelmätiede.
The programme covers automation, software and telecommunications technology, artificial intelligence methods, robotics, embedded systems, cybersecurity, computer modelling, and application-specific digital solutions such as data centre systems, positioning technologies, and the use of satellite data. In information systems science, studies focus on digitalisation for business objectives and on using information systems expertise to develop business systems. The master’s thesis requires academic research and includes a literature review, empirical data collection, analysis, conclusions, and proposals for future research.
The English-taught Sustainable and Autonomous Systems major is a joint programme with the University of Oulu. The Automation and Robotics major is taught in Pori. The programme can lead to Master of Science in Technology or Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration degrees.
