The Master’s Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Analytics focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, financial engineering and data analytics with a strong mathematical foundation. Students study mathematical and computational skills, probability theory, statistical inference and applied statistics, and they use modern statistical tools in AI and machine learning.
The programme is a two-year, 120 ECTS international master’s degree. Students complete core courses in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Probability and Statistics, then choose one orientation: Statistics or Stochastics. They also complete applied mathematics, optional studies and a 30 ECTS master’s thesis. Depending on their background, students may need supplementary studies. Some specialisations require Finnish, because some courses are taught in Finnish. The University of Vaasa also says that students can study abroad through its partner universities.
The programme is designed for students from natural sciences, engineering, business and economics who want roles where mathematical foundation, technical competence, strategic thinking, risk management and analytics skills come together.
