Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is a 120 ECTS major in the Master of Science (Technology) degree at Aalto University. It covers machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence, with study themes that include Deep Learning, Deep Generative Models, Bayesian Data Analysis, Probabilistic Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Federated Learning and Computer Vision. Aalto University describes the field as relevant to problems such as climate change and epidemics.

The programme is organised over two years. It consists of major studies, elective studies and a master’s thesis. Aalto University says the studies emphasise active, hands-on learning through projects and practical assignments. The curriculum starts with compulsory courses that provide a foundation, then allows deeper study in Digital Health, Speech and Language, or Large-Scale Computing. Studies are taught in English and normally require on-campus attendance. The programme also offers exchange, internships and a double degree option with Grenoble INP.
