Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability (EIT Raw Materials), Master of Science (Technology)

The programme covers the full raw materials value chain and links materials science with innovation and entrepreneurship. It focuses on substitution of critical or toxic materials in products, optimisation of material chains for end-of-life products, and product and service design for the circular economy.

It is a double degree programme studied at two European universities. The degree has an integrated technical major and an Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor. The two-year structure includes major and minor studies, a summer camp, an internship in the field, and a 30-ECTS master’s thesis.

At Aalto University, the specialisation topic is Nanomaterials and Interfaces: Advanced Characterization and Modeling. If first- or second-year studies are taken at Aalto University, the major is Functional Materials for Global Challenges and the minor subject is Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
