About this program

Environmental Technology is a 5-year programme leading to a Bachelor of Science (Technology) and a Master of Science (Technology). It covers environmental challenges linked to energy systems, cities, industry, natural resources, and human well-being. Students learn to assess environmental impacts, analyse sustainability challenges, and develop solutions that create value for society and the environment.

The programme is closely connected to LUT University’s System Earth approach. It gives a foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, programming, technical modelling, measurement systems, and engineering design. It also focuses on life cycle thinking and systems-level analysis.

The degree is organised as a 3-year bachelor’s degree and a 2-year master’s degree. After completing the bachelor’s degree, students can continue automatically to a related master’s programme without a separate application.
