Environmental Health and Technology, Master of Science

The Master’s Degree Programme in Environmental Health and Technology (ENHET) combines the study of human exposure and health effects with technological solutions to reduce environmental effects on health. It focuses on environmental agents such as air and water pollutants, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and chemicals, together with methods and modelling for risk assessment.

The programme is 2 years long and uses lectures, exercises, book exams and hands-on training in research groups. The curriculum includes advanced studies in environmental science, a master’s thesis with an experimental element, alternative studies, language and communication studies, and a personal study plan prepared at the start of the studies. Practical training in research institutes or other relevant workplaces can be included.

The advanced studies are divided into modules on exposure and risk assessment, environmental modelling, air pollutants, aerosols and health, radiation, and water.
