About this program

The Master's Degree Programme in Sustainable Packaging at Tampere University of Applied Sciences focuses on packaging value chains, circular economy principles, material innovation, product design, regulation, AI utilisation, eco-management, and lifecycle thinking. It covers packaging materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, and metal, together with their production and life cycle scenarios.

The programme uses hands-on projects, real-world case studies, seminars, group work, and individual tasks. It includes one intensive week per semester at the TAMK campus, with contact and online teaching between the intensive weeks. The master's thesis starts at the beginning of the studies and is written in English.

TAMK says the programme is for people with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least two years of work experience. It prepares graduates to lead sustainable packaging innovation and work in global packaging and sustainability contexts.
