Centria University of Applied Sciences Tuition Fee Scholarship

Centria University of Applied Sciences runs a scholarship system for Bachelor’s degree students who are subject to tuition fees. Centria states that the programme can reduce the tuition fee or provide financial support, and that the scholarship processes are reviewed each academic year.

The programme applies to students in Bachelor level programmes who must pay tuition fees. Centria sets the tuition fee at 9,500 € per academic year for students starting in the stated intake, and the fee must be paid in full according to Centria’s instructions. The scholarship elements include an early bird reduction, a progress-based reduction, an academic performance scholarship, a Finnish language reward, an employment support programme and an integration scholarship.

Centria says the selection method depends on the element. Some awards are automatic, some require an application, and some are decided by a Selection Committee. For the academic performance scholarship, the committee selects students during the fall semester and students do not apply. For the progress in studies scholarship and the integration scholarship, students apply within the stated application period.

Support is tied to study progress and study right. Centria says students must meet the stated credit and grade requirements, stay within the normative completion time, and remain enrolled as present where required. Scholarships are not granted for studies that exceed the regular completion time, and students who received a written warning or were temporarily suspended during the previous academic year are not eligible for scholarships based on studies completed that year.

• The progress in studies scholarship cannot be granted if the spring term exceeds the regular completion time or if the student graduates during the fall semester.
• Students with a written warning or temporary suspension during the previous academic year are not eligible for scholarships based on studies completed that academic year.
• Students must be enrolled as present during the selection process for the academic performance scholarship.
• The academic performance scholarship is awarded to a student or students per degree programme who show outstanding academic performance, taking normative progress and grade point average into account.

5. If selected for the academic performance scholarship, no application is needed because the Selection Committee chooses the recipient during the fall semester.
6. If receiving a scholarship based on studies completed, pay the full tuition fee for the ongoing academic year according to Centria’s instructions.

• Finnish language certificate (National Certificate of Language Proficiency, YKI) with at least B1.1 level, for the Finnish language scholarship.
