Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Tuition Fee Scholarship

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences states that it provides scholarships for degree students who are not citizens of EU/EEA countries and who are required to pay tuition fees. On this page, the scholarship information is presented through Metropolia’s Early Bird discount, which lowers the tuition fee.

The Early Bird discount applies to applicants accepted in the Joint Application, to top-up programmes in the Separate Application for International Degree Programmes, and to students selected through SAT/ACT or GMAT/GRE test-based selection in the Separate Application for International Degree Programmes. Metropolia says the discount is offered on the tuition fee for the second academic term of the first study year.

To receive the discount, the applicant must accept the study place within 14 days of the student selection announcement, by 3 pm Finland time, and pay the tuition fee within the deadline set by the university of applied sciences. The discount does not apply to application on the basis of Finnish higher education studies, Metropolia’s Open UAS studies, transfer application, or Separate Application for International Degree Programmes when the study place is in a programme based on Pathway studies or commissioned education studies.

The discount is deducted from the tuition fee rather than paid as cash. For students starting in autumn term, the discount is deducted from the total academic-year payment. For students starting in spring term, it is deducted from the tuition fee for the following academic term.

• The applicant must not be a citizen of an EU/EEA country.
• The applicant must be liable to pay tuition fees at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
• The applicant must be accepted in the Joint Application, or in the Separate Application for International Degree Programmes as a top-up programme applicant, or through SAT/ACT test-based student selection, or through GMAT/GRE test-based student selection.
• The applicant must accept the study place no later than 14 days after the announcement of the student selection, by 3 pm local time in Finland.
• The applicant must pay the tuition fee within the deadline announced by the university of applied sciences.
• The applicant’s right to study must begin on 1 August or after, for the Early Bird terms stated on the page.
• The discount does not apply to applicants selected on the basis of Finnish higher education studies.
• The discount does not apply to applicants selected on the basis of Metropolia’s Open UAS studies.
• The discount does not apply to transfer applicants.
• The discount does not apply when the offered study place is in a programme based on Pathway studies.
• The discount does not apply when the offered study place is in commissioned education studies.

• A €1,000 discount on the tuition fee.
• The discount is applied to the second academic term of the first study year.
• For study rights starting in autumn term, the discount is deducted from the full academic-year tuition fee.
• For study rights starting in spring term, the discount is deducted from the tuition fee for the following academic term.

1. Apply to Metropolia University of Applied Sciences through an eligible application route.
2. Accept the study place within 14 days of the student selection announcement, by 3 pm local time in Finland.
3. Pay the tuition fee within the deadline given by the university of applied sciences.
