Tampere University Finland Scholarships for International Students

Tampere University says its scholarships support fee-paying students and are intended for merited, high-achieving and motivated applicants. The university also offers an early bird discount for eligible students who accept their place and pay the reduced first-year fee within the stated time.

The tuition fee scholarship is available for admission to some programmes, but Tampere University says scholarships are not awarded in all programmes. The award is tied to the admission application and is assessed together with the applicant’s study documents and other application information submitted through Studyinfo.fi.

Tampere University awards scholarships on the basis of an overall academic assessment. The admissions committee considers all application information and educational documents, and the scholarship application letter if one is submitted and applicable. The scholarship decision is sent together with the admission result.

• Citizens of countries outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
• Applicants to bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes taught in English.
• Applicants who apply for the scholarship as part of their application for admission during the admission application period.
• Applicants to programmes where Tampere University scholarships are offered; scholarships are not awarded in all programmes.
• Fee-paying students for the early bird offer.
• Fee-paying students who have not been awarded a Tampere University tuition fee scholarship for the early bird offer.
• Applicants to bachelor’s programmes admitted from the waiting list may use the early bird offer only if there are two or more weeks left before the deadline for accepting the study place.
• Bachelor’s degree holders at Tampere University who graduate from their bachelor’s programme within three academic years for the Graduation Scholarship.

• Tampere University tuition fee scholarship: 50% of the tuition fees for the programme duration.
• Early bird offer: a €2,000 reduction on the programme tuition fee during the first year of studies.
• Graduation Scholarship: a €2,000 reduction on the tuition fee for the first year of master’s degree studies at Tampere University.

1. Apply for admission during the admission application period.
2. Submit the scholarship application at the same time as the admission application in Studyinfo.fi.
3. Use the same online application for both admission and scholarship consideration.
4. For the early bird offer, accept the offered study place and pay the reduced first-year tuition fee within two weeks after receiving the admission result; no separate application is needed.
