Tampere University of Applied Sciences Tuition Fee Scholarship

Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) offers tuition fee scholarship waivers for degree students who are subject to individual tuition fees. TAMK describes the system as cohort-based so students can anticipate and influence their costs, and notes that any later changes apply to earlier cohorts only if beneficial to those students. All scholarships are applied as waivers from payable amounts, with no reimbursement after payment.

The waivers target fee-paying students in English-taught Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at TAMK, excluding tailored groups or commissioned education. Year 1 opportunities include an Early Bird waiver for Bachelor’s students who accept the offer within a set time and pay the first installment, and an Early Bird discount for Master’s students who prepay the full annual fee by a stated date.

Selection is criteria-based: for Bachelor’s students, a 50% Early Bird waiver requires accepting the study place within 14 days and paying the first installment, and Academic Awards depend on achieving 60 credits in the previous academic year, with an added Finnish language test (YKI) submission for a higher waiver. For Master’s students, a 20% Early Bird discount is granted for full prepayment by a stated date, and second-year Academic Awards are based on completed credits. TAMK states that students found guilty of academic fraud, or who have received a written warning or temporary suspension due to fraud, are not granted scholarship waivers.

Waivers are applied to regular tuition payments that are split into two installments, typically covering the second installment partially or fully. For Bachelor’s Early Bird, the 50% waiver covers the second installment due in August. Continuing student waivers are determined annually based on completed credits recorded by the specified check date. No post-award obligations are stated.

• Master’s Academic Award for second year: 60 credits in the year = 50% waiver; 45 credits in the year = 25% waiver.
• Students found guilty of academic fraud, or who have received a written warning issued by TAMK, or have been temporarily suspended due to a case of fraud, are not granted scholarship waivers.

• All scholarships are tuition fee waivers or discounts; no reimbursements after payment.
• Bachelor’s Early Bird: 50% waiver applied to the second installment of the first-year tuition fee.
• Bachelor’s Academic Award: 25% waiver for 60 credits in the previous academic year; 50% waiver for 60 credits plus submitted YKI result by 15 August.

1. If offered a place in a Bachelor’s programme, accept the study place within 14 days and pay the first installment of the first-year tuition fee to receive the 50% Early Bird waiver on the second installment. (Not available if selected from the waiting list with less than 14 days to accept.)
2. For the Bachelor’s Academic Award, complete 60 credits during the previous academic year and ensure the credits are in the study registry by 15 August; submit a Finnish language test (YKI) result by 15 August to qualify for the 50% waiver.
3. If admitted to a Master’s programme, pay the full annual fee in one payment by 31 May to receive the 20% Early Bird discount.
4. For the Master’s Academic Award in the second year, complete 45 or 60 credits in the academic year; waivers are determined from completed credits.
5. Pay tuition in two installments as instructed; TAMK applies eligible waivers to the second installment.
6. Maintain academic integrity; students with fraud-related sanctions are not granted waivers.
