University of Lapland Tuition Fee Scholarship

University of Lapland offers tuition fee scholarships for students in its international Master’s degree programmes. The university says the scholarships are part of its tuition fee arrangements for master’s students who are liable to pay tuition fees.

The scholarship applies to applicants to the Joint application master’s programmes. Applicants for the 2-year Master’s Degree Scholarship apply on the same form as the degree programme. The university also offers a first-year Early Bird scholarship for students who accept their study place and pay within the stated time limit.

The university allocates the Master’s Degree Scholarship according to applicants’ success in the application process. It says scholarship decisions cannot be appealed. Applicants who are not selected are ranked using the public admission criteria of the programme.

The Master’s Degree Scholarship is granted for the full 2-year normative duration of the degree. The second year depends on satisfactory progress in studies. To keep it, a student must complete at least 60 credits in the first academic year with a GPA of at least 3/5. If the student completes fewer than 60 credits or has a GPA below 3/5, the second-year scholarship is lost. The scholarship does not cover living costs.

1. Apply to the master’s degree programme through the Studyinfo portal during the Joint application period.
2. Use the same application form to apply for the Master’s Degree Scholarship.
3. Upload all required enclosures to the application before the enclosure deadline.
4. If liable to pay an application fee, pay it when submitting the application form.
5. For the Early Bird scholarship, accept the study place and pay the required tuition fee within two weeks of the publication of admission results.
6. If offered a study place, accept it before the stated acceptance deadline.
