International Master's Scholarships Program IDEX

Université Paris-Saclay offers the International Master’s Scholarships Program IDEX as part of its internationalization strategy for its master’s programs. The stated purpose is to facilitate outstanding international students’ access to Université Paris-Saclay courses, particularly those wishing to pursue a PhD.

Students of foreign nationality may apply if they have admission to a master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay operated by AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, or UVSQ. Applicants must be first-time enrollees in France, under 30 during the year of application, and apply to eligible master’s programs.

All academic fields are eligible, and both M1 and M2 are eligible. Vocational programs (“formations en apprentissage”) are excluded. Applications are evaluated by a jury of experts from Graduate Schools of Université Paris-Saclay using criteria including academic background, personal project, and motivation for pursuing a PhD thesis at Université Paris-Saclay for M2 candidates.

The scholarship provides 10,000 euros per year paid monthly for the academic year from September to June. The amount is reduced during months spent abroad on compulsory international mobility or in delocalized master’s programs, or during internships undertaken outside Université Paris-Saclay affiliated labs. Laureates receive a yearly flat fee of up to 900 euros for travel and visa costs, amount depending on country of origin, and the scholarship automatically renews for a second year for eligible M1 laureates admitted to M2.

• Students of foreign nationality
• Admission in a master’s degree of Université Paris-Saclay operated by one of the following institutions: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ
• First-time enrolment in France (students who have never been registered in a French Higher Education Institution – except exchange programs, Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degrees without a French degree, internships and language programs)
• Under 30 years of age during the year of application
• Receiving any other funding above 600 euros per month results in ineligibility
• Ineligible if the international master’s scholarship is cumulated with France Excellence Eiffel or France Excellence Europa scholarships
• Ineligible if the international master’s scholarship is cumulated with Erasmus Mundus scholarships
• Eligible programs: all academic fields are eligible
• All master’s programs of Université Paris-Saclay are eligible except vocational programs (“formations en apprentissage”)
• Eligible study level: both M1 (first year of master’s) and M2 (second year of master’s)
• Automatic renewal for a second year: any laureate admitted in M1 who, upon completion of all required credit, is admitted in an M2 program of Université Paris-Saclay

• Scholarship amount reduced during months spent abroad (compulsory international mobility, delocalized master’s programs) or during internships undertaken outside Université Paris-Saclay affiliated labs

• Amount of the travel and visa flat fee depends on the country of origin of the candidate
• Administrative support in procedures and support for the search of accommodation
• Travel expenses and scholarship provided only upon arrival in France and once registration is completed; no advance payment can be made
• Accommodation reservation cannot be guaranteed; it is the laureates’ responsibility to anticipate housing search

1. Step 1: Apply to a master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay before the set deadline for the international scholarship program (late applications cannot be accepted). Only students who have applied and have been admitted before the set deadline can be selected by course coordinators.
2. Step 2: Course coordinators select candidates for the scholarship. Selected students receive an email with a link to the online application form. If applicable, candidates provide the name and contact details of two references who can recommend their application; references are invited by email to complete online recommendation before the set deadline. Candidates receive confirmation of receipt but do not access the recommendation itself. Email applications cannot be accepted.
3. Step 3: The scholarship jury evaluates complete applications. Applicants are informed by email of the jury’s decision. Jury decisions are discretionary, confidential, and cannot lead to appeal.
