Université Paris-Saclay offers the International Master’s Scholarships Program as part of its internationalization strategy for its master’s programmes. It provides scholarships to outstanding international students to facilitate access to its courses, particularly aimed at those wishing to pursue a PhD.

The programme is aimed at students of foreign nationality who meet the listed criteria, including first-time enrolment in France and admission in an eligible Université Paris-Saclay master’s degree operated by one of the named institutions (AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ). All academic fields are eligible, and all master’s programmes are eligible except vocational programmes (“formations en apprentissage”). Both M1 and M2 are eligible.

Selection starts with course coordinators evaluating applicants who applied and were admitted before the set deadline. Selected students receive an email with a link to an online application form and may be asked to provide names and contact details of two references for recommendation via an online form. Complete applications are then evaluated by a scholarship jury from Université Paris-Saclay Graduate Schools using academic background, personal project, and, for M2 candidates, motivation for pursuing a PhD thesis at Université Paris-Saclay. Decisions are discretionary and confidential, and cannot lead to appeal.

The scholarship is 10,000 euros per year, paid monthly from September to June for the academic year. Amount is reduced during months spent abroad (compulsory international mobility, delocalized master’s programmes) or during internships undertaken outside Université Paris-Saclay affiliated labs. A yearly flat fee of up to 900 euros supports travel and visa costs, with the amount depending on the candidate’s country of origin. Scholarship and travel expenses are paid only upon arrival in France and after registration; no advance payment is possible. Laureates receive support for administrative procedures and accommodation search, but accommodation reservation cannot be guaranteed and housing is the laureate’s responsibility. The scholarship automatically renews for a second year for M1 laureates admitted to an M2 programme after completing required credits.

• Foreign nationality.
• Admission in a master’s degree of Université Paris-Saclay operated by one of: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ.
• First-time enrolment in France (never registered in a French Higher Education Institution, except exchange programs, Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degrees without a French degree, internships and language programs).
• Under 30 years of age during the year of application.
• Ineligible if receiving any other funding above 600 euros per month.
• International master’s scholarship cannot be cumulated with France Excellence Eiffel or France Excellence Europa scholarships, nor with Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
• Eligible programmes: all academic fields; all master’s programmes of Université Paris-Saclay except vocational programmes (“formations en apprentissage”).
• Eligible study level: both M1 (first year of master’s) and M2 (second year of master’s).
• Automatic renewal for M1 laureates who complete required credits and are admitted in an M2 programme of Université Paris-Saclay.
• No advance payment is made; scholarship and travel expenses are provided only upon arrival in France and once the student has registered in the admitted programme.
• Refugee/subsidiary protection status: if concerned, the applicant must indicate it in the statement of purpose.

1. Apply to a master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay by the set deadline for the international scholarship programme (late applications cannot be accepted; selection by course coordinators is limited to students who applied and were admitted before the set deadline).
2. After selection by course coordinators, selected students receive an email with a link to an online application form.
3. If applicable, provide the name and contact details of two references who can recommend the application; references receive an email inviting them to complete their recommendation online before the set deadline.
4. Complete applications are evaluated by the scholarship jury; applicants are informed by email of the jury’s decision.
