Université Paris-Saclay International Master’s Scholarships

Université Paris-Saclay offers International Master’s Scholarships to outstanding international students as part of its internationalization strategy for master’s programs, to facilitate access to its courses. The scholarships are particularly aimed at applicants wishing to pursue a PhD.

Eligibility is for students of foreign nationality who are admitted to a master’s degree of Université Paris-Saclay operated by AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, or UVSQ. Applicants must be first-time enrolled in France, under 30 years of age during the year of application, and can apply for both M1 and M2. All academic fields are eligible, except vocational programs (“formations en apprentissage”).

Candidates meeting the cumulative eligibility criteria can apply after applying to a master’s degree before the set deadline for the international scholarship program. Course coordinators select candidates and selected students receive an email with a link to the online scholarship application form. Complete applications are then evaluated by a jury from Graduate Schools of Université Paris-Saclay using academic background, personal project, and motivation for pursuing a PhD thesis at Université Paris-Saclay for M2 candidates. The jury decisions are confidential and cannot be appealed.

The international master’s scholarship is 10,000 euros per year, paid monthly by Université Paris-Saclay for the duration of the academic year from September to June. The scholarship amount is reduced during months spent abroad for compulsory international mobility, delocalized master’s programs, or internships undertaken outside Université Paris-Saclay affiliated labs. It automatically renews for a second year for laureates admitted in M1 who, upon completion of all required credit, are admitted in an M2 program. Laureates also receive a yearly flat fee of up to 900 euros for travel and visa costs, and support for administrative procedures and searching for accommodation.

• Admission in a master’s degree of Université Paris-Saclay operated by one of: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ
• First-time enrolment in France (never registered in a French Higher Education Institution), except exchange programs, Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degrees without a French degree, internships and language programs
• Under 30 years of age during the year of application
• Not receiving any other funding above 600 euros per month
• The scholarship cannot be cumulated with France Excellence Eiffel or France Excellence Europa scholarships
• The scholarship cannot be cumulated with Erasmus Mundus scholarships
• Eligible programs include all academic fields
• Eligible master’s programs of Université Paris-Saclay, except vocational programs (“formations en apprentissage”)
• Eligible study levels: both M1 (first year of master’s) and M2 (second year of master’s)

• 10 000 euros per year scholarship paid monthly from September to June for the entire duration of the academic year
• Reduction of scholarship amount during months spent abroad (compulsory international mobility, delocalized master’s programs) or during internships undertaken outside Université Paris-Saclay affiliated labs
• A yearly flat fee of up to 900 euros supporting travel and visa costs; amount depends on the country of origin of the candidate
• Travel expenses provided only upon arrival in France and once registered in the admitted program (no advance payment)
• Support for administrative procedures and for the search of accommodation; reservation of accommodation cannot be guaranteed

1. Step 1: Apply to a master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay before the set deadline for the international scholarship program; only students who have applied and been admitted before that set deadline can be selected by course coordinators. Late applications cannot be accepted.
2. Step 2: Course coordinators select candidates for the scholarship; selected students receive an email with a link to the online application form. If applicable, they must provide the name and contact details of two references who can recommend their application; references receive an email to complete the recommendation online before the set deadline. Candidates receive confirmation of receipt of recommendation but do not access the recommendation itself. Email applications cannot be accepted.
3. Step 3: A scholarship jury composed of experts from Graduate Schools of Université Paris-Saclay evaluates complete applications using academic background, personal project, and motivation for pursuing a PhD thesis at Université Paris-Saclay for M2 candidates. Applicants are informed by email of the jury’s decision; decisions are discretionary, confidential, and cannot lead to appeal.
