Rechtswissenschaft (Erste juristische Prüfung / Bachelor of Laws) at Universität Bremen is the course that leads to the Erste Juristische Prüfung and the integrated degree “Bachelor of Laws”. The Pflichtfachstudium covers Bürgerliches Recht, Kriminalwissenschaft/Strafrecht, and Öffentliches Recht. It is structured into a Grundstudium and a Hauptstudium, supported by written performance records such as semester exams and term papers.
The study continues with universitäres Schwerpunktstudium in the following semesters, with a Bachelorprüfung at the end of this phase. The course also includes preparation for the Erste Juristische Prüfung in the later semesters. Universität Bremen states that people who want to work as Richterin/Richter, Staatsanwältin/-anwalt, or as niedergelassene Anwältin/-anwalt must complete the Zweite Staatsexamen after the university study and the Erste juristische Prüfung, followed by a 24-month Referendariat.
