Master of Laws

The Master of Laws (LL.M) at Daystar University is designed for students who want to apply specialized legal knowledge to influence policy and law-making at international, regional, national, and local levels. Students choose from programme concentrations including Medical Law and Ethics, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Media & Communications Law, Devolution & Federalism Law, Intellectual Property Rights Law, and Constitutional Law, Human Rights & Democracy.

Learning uses a hybrid, self-paced, and peer-to-peer model, with off-campus access to the University’s Online Library that includes full-text e-books and e-journals. The course delivery combines course work and a thesis. The programme requires 48 credit hours to graduate, including common courses, core courses, concentration courses, and a thesis.

Applicants wishing to enter the Master of Laws (LL.M) programme must hold an undergraduate degree in Law.

• Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Law with a minimum of Second Class (Honours) Upper Division (GPA of 33.3) from Daystar University.
• Graduates of any other University whose degrees have been accepted by Senate to be equivalent to the bachelor’s degree.
• Holders of a Bachelor’s degree of Daystar University (or other accredited University) or its accepted equivalent who have achieved a Second Class (Honours) Lower Division (GPA of 3.00), with two years of relevant work experience or relevant research/publications, or a post-graduate diploma from a recognized academic institution.
