The Khalifa University Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year is a fully funded opportunity open to international students. This scholarship caters to both master’s and PhD studies, covering complete tuition fees, medical insurance, assistance for participating in international research conferences, and offering a monthly stipend of up to AED 40,000.

Khalifa University is a comprehensive research-intensive university with three colleges, three research institutes, 18 research centers, and 17 departments covering a broad range of disciplines in science, engineering, and medicine. It will continue to evolve with the UAE’s rapidly developing national goals and needs and nurture the innovation ecosystem required for the country’s targeted knowledge economy transformation.

In June 2021, Khalifa University jumped 28 positions from 211th in the 2021 rankings, to 183rd in the QS World University Rankings 2022, becoming the first university in the UAE to become a top world 200 university.

PhD Scholarship Benefits:

Full coverage of tuition fees.
Basic monthly stipend of 20,000 AED.
Additional monthly allowance of 20,000 AED, subject to approval and meeting scholarship progression criteria.
Textbooks provided by the University.
Support to attend international research conferences, subject to approval.
Medical insurance coverage for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.
Mobilization and demobilization flights (between home country and Abu Dhabi) for full-time overseas international students, subject to approval.
Coverage of UAE visa application fees for full-time international students.
Commitment to work with Khalifa University or a nominated entity upon graduation for a period equivalent to the period of study. The University reserves the right for any reason not to offer the student a post after graduation.

Eligibility Criteria:

Required Language: Proficiency in English is necessary for all applicants.
Eligible Countries: Students from any country across the globe can apply for the scholarship.
Master’s Degree Program Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree.
- They need to provide proof of English Proficiency.
- An admission interview is also required.
Doctorate Degree Program Requirements:
- Completion of a Master’s Degree is necessary.
- Applicants must submit a research statement (500-1,000 words).
- An admission interview is part of the selection process.
Program Options:
- Candidates can opt for either Full-Time or Part-Time enrollment.
Full-Time Requirements:
- Full-time students need to register for 3-4 courses per semester, equivalent to 9-12 credit hours.
Part-Time Requirements:
- Part-time students should register for 2 courses per semester, equivalent to 6 credit hours.

Create an Account:
- Visit the designated application portal and create an account.
Fill Out the Application:
- Complete the application form and attach the required documents, including:
  - Certified copy of Bachelor’s/Master’s degree certificate.
  - Equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates from non-UAE institutions.
  - Official transcript with grading scale.
  - English language proficiency score certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, or EmSAT).
  - Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score report.
  - Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  - Passport-style photograph with a white background.
  - Valid passport. International applicants residing in the UAE should include a clear copy of their UAE visa.
  - Family Book (Khulasat Al Qaid) for UAE National applicants.
  - Valid UAE national ID card for national and international applicants residing in the UAE.
  - Statement of Purpose (500 to 1,000 words).
  - Research Statement (500 to 1,000 words) for PhD applicants.
