Bachelor of Science Bsc in Computer Science

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the American University of Kuwait requires completion of at least 120 credit hours, including 58 credit hours of major requirements divided between core and elective courses. Students study subjects such as programming, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networks, software engineering, mobile computing, and computer security.

The program includes general education and related field requirements in math, science, and business. The course is structured with core and elective modules, with electives allowing specialization in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or Data Science. The program requires a minimum grade of C- in major courses and a cumulative major GPA of 2.0 to graduate.

An internship option is available for eligible students with a major GPA of 2.7 or higher, providing practical experience to complement theoretical learning. The program admits students upon successful completion of MATH 110 with a C- grade.

Admission requires successful completion of MATH 110 with a grade of C-. Transfer from ABET accredited or equivalent programs are considered. Transfer credits from non-accredited programs are accepted for courses not under the prefixes CSIS.
