The Master of Arts in Political Science with a Human Rights Emphasis at Notre Dame University focuses on political science foundations with a specific focus on international human rights conventions, governance, legal systems, and political dynamics. Students learn to conduct independent research using theoretical and practical approaches while engaging in critical analysis of human rights politics. The program includes comprehensive written and oral exams or a thesis option. It prepares graduates for roles in government, civil society, media, or private enterprise with a focus on advancing human rights locally and globally.
Applicants must hold a BA in Political Science, Public Administration, International Affairs and Diplomacy, International Law, or a related field with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0. A minimum score of 60/100 is required on the English Entrance Test (EET), except for NDU students. The Faculty may require the GRE for non-NDU students. Prerequisite courses may include Introduction to International Affairs, Introduction to Political Science, Government and Institutions of Lebanon, or equivalents.
