Master of Science in Civil Engineering

The Master of Science in Civil Engineering equips students with theoretical and applied knowledge to support leadership roles in engineering, government, research, or entrepreneurship. Students study core courses, technical electives in various civil engineering fields, and graduate electives, culminating in a research thesis and defense. The program applies a total of 30 credits, including project-based learning and real-world problem solving. It prepares students for professional advancement and longer-term academic research.

Modules

• 12 credits (4 courses) of required courses in the major field
• 9 credits (3 courses) of technical electives from the other three fields listed below
• 3 credits (1 course) of graduate electives approved by the Faculty Graduate Committee
• 6 credits of research dedicated to writing a Master Thesis and defense

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 minimum
• GRE Scores
• Approval of the Faculty Graduate Committee
