Bachelor of Education Teaching Malay in Primary School

The Bachelor of Education (Teaching Malay Language in Primary School) with Honours prepares teachers to strengthen knowledge of teaching language subjects and to develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving. It focuses on teaching and learning practices for primary school education, including professional practice, special needs children, and classroom assessment.

Learning includes interactive activities, assignments, and online discussions, with access to myPLS at any time on any device. The program is delivered through part-time study, fully online study, and blended study. It includes monthly tutorials held at weekends. Assessment uses assignments at 60% and examinations at 40%, and the program structure includes practicum and research in the classroom.

DIRECT ENTRY

• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects or its equivalent
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid;
• A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent;
• Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent.

AND

• A credit in the relevant language at SPM level or its equivalent for those who intend to major in Bahasa Melayu, Arabic, Chinese or Tamil, for example, those who intend to do Tamil must have a credit in Tamil language.
• For language programmes other than Bahasa Melayu, Arabic, Chinese or Tamil, the minimum credit in English at SPM or its equivalent is required.
• These are programmes that cater for students from introductory level.

ELCR Band (International Students Only):

• Achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS OR Band 3 of MUET OR its equivalent

APEL ENTRY

This applies to candidates who are: at least 21 years of age in the year of application and possess relevant working experience.
