Diploma in Early Childhood Education Odl

The Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ODL), awarded by Veritas University College, develops skills to support children’s growth and build an early childhood education career. Core studies include Child Growth and Development, Guiding Young Children, Play in Early Childhood Education, Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood Education, and Curriculum Planning and Development in Early Childhood Education, alongside Health, Safety and Nutrition for Young Children, Early Mathematics, Early Science and Technology, and Virtual Teaching in Early Childhood Education.

Learning is delivered through ODL with live classes scheduled on weekdays from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Assessment includes coursework and exams. Practical experience includes a practicum with 8 weeks in a childcare centre and 8 weeks in a preschool. Students can also work on live projects with partner preschools and childcare centres, and take part in workshops and learning visits.

• A pass in SPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject; OR
• A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any subject or its equivalent; OR
• A pass in UEC with at least Grade B in any 5 subjects; OR
• Any other qualifications recognised by the university senate
