Diploma in Education Early Childhood Education

The Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) is an introductory program for people who want to prepare to educate and nurture children from birth to six years old. The curriculum covers child development, teaching pedagogies (including play-based and inquiry-based learning), curriculum planning for age-appropriate and inclusive lesson plans, health and safety practices, and early literacy and numeracy through engaging, hands-on activities.

Students gain practical teaching experience through field placements at childcare centers, kindergartens (tadika), and preschools. These placements support classroom management, teaching strategies for young learners, and collaboration with parents and colleagues, along with reflection for continuous improvement. UNISEL also provides academic advising, peer mentoring, career services, and access to modern facilities including classrooms, child development resources, and libraries.

• A Pass in SPM with 3 credits; OR
• A Pass in UEC with a minimum grade of B in 3 subjects and a pass in English

• Early Childhood Educator in childcare centers, kindergartens, and preschools.
