Diploma in Nursing

The Diploma in Nursing at Nilai University College trains students in health, behavioural and nursing sciences. It includes core nursing modules such as Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing Science, Pharmacology and Nutrition, and Nursing Management and Administration, alongside topics in anatomy and physiology, microbiology and parasitology, research and statistics, and mental health.

The programme lasts 3 years with 9 semesters. It combines classroom modules with hands-on training through Industrial Training (Nursing Science Practical) and Clinical Practice I through Clinical Practice X, covering areas including fundamentals, pharmacology, perioperative care, autoimmune and communicable diseases, infection and inflammation, gastrointestine and endocrine nursing, cardiovascular and respiratory nursing, mental health, obstetrics, paediatrics, and management.

SPM or its equivalent

• 3 credits in SPM (or its equivalent) in Bahasa Melayu (Malaysians only), Mathematics, Science + 2* other subjects;
• OR *3 other subjects for international students
• O-Level
• Grade C in 5 subjects including Bahasa Melayu (Malaysians only), Mathematics, Science + 2* subjects;
• OR *3 other subjects for international students
• UEC
• Grade B in 3 subjects, including Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, and Science;
• OR Assistant Nurse Certificate / Community Nurse Certificate
• Pass SPM
• Registered with Nursing Board and has a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• 3 years of clinical working experience

Health requirements: All offers are subject to the students being certified by a medical practitioner as fit to be accepted into the programme within a month from commencement of the nursing programme and not having any of the following medical/physical conditions: EPILEPSY, HEPATITIS B & C, TUBERCULOSIS (TB), HIV & AIDS, MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS, PHYSICAL OR IMPAIRED SENSES THAT HINDER DEXTERITY, COLOUR BLINDNESS, MEDICAL INSURANCE.

International students who do not fulfill the English Language Requirements may join the Intensive English Programme at Nilai University which builds their skills in the language and prepares them for the Linguaskill examination.
