Master in Information Technology

The Master in Information Technology at University Tun Abdul Razak builds advanced knowledge for IT project management, IT governance and compliance, data lakes and data warehouses, advanced data analytics, data visualization and dashboarding, and research methodology. Students complete a Master Project that applies learning to real-world IT challenges and produces practical technology solutions.

Study can be taken in conventional mode or Open Distance Learning (ODL). Conventional study is offered full-time for 1 years or part-time for 2 years, and ODL follows the same 1-year full-time or 2-year part-time options. The programme requires 40 credit hours in total and includes common core courses plus one specialisation chosen for 12 credit hours.

Bachelor's Degree

• A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, as accepted by the UNIRAZAK Senate; OR
• A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50 may be accepted subject to a thorough and rigorous assessment as determined by the UNIRAZAK Senate; OR
• A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a Non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 may be accepted subject to a thorough and rigorous assessment by the UNIRAZAK Senate to determine the appropriate prerequisite courses in Computing or related fields; OR
• A Bachelor's Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a Non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 may be accepted subject to completing the appropriate prerequisite courses; OR
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must fulfil the requirements stated in Item (i) or (ii).

Others

• Admission through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

International Applicants

• Applicants must achieve a minimum of Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or an equivalent qualification aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at Low B2. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be required to undertake English proficiency courses prescribed by UNIRAZAK to ensure sufficient language proficiency for the programme.
