The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at the University of Santo Tomas is a four-year program under the College of Information and Computing Sciences, Department of Information Technology. Students are trained in practical and technical skills for installing and setting up computers and computer networks, including troubleshooting and repairing hardware components.
The program has three professional elective tracks: Network and Security, IT Automation, and Web and Mobile App Development. Network and Security focuses on managing, building, and installing network security, including cybersecurity concepts and network security auditing. Web and Mobile App Development supplements programming courses and includes work with PHP and.NET Framework, and mobile applications using iOS and/or Windows platforms. IT Automation centers on linking systems through sensors, actuators, scripts, and programs.
Students follow a schedule with a first term covering August–December and a second term covering January–May, with a special term covering June–July. The program curriculum uses common outcomes across all tracks and includes track-specific outcomes such as designing and developing network design and infrastructure, building web and mobile applications, and creating automated systems using sensors and microcontrollers.
