The Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at the University of Santo Tomas is a four-year program that includes general education and professional courses. Students study subjects such as Mathematics in the Modern World, Purposive Communication, and Christian Vision courses, alongside Medical Technology courses including Principles of Medical Technology Practice, Human Anatomy and Physiology with Pathphysiology, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Human Histology, and Laboratory Management.
The program includes laboratory components across multiple areas and a one-year internship in a Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-accredited training laboratory in the fourth-year level. Internship duties rotate across Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Immunology and Serology, Urinalysis and other Body Fluids (Clinical Microscopy), Parasitology, Histopathologic/Cytological Techniques, and other emergent technologies.
