Bachelor of Science in Animal Science

The Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at Amoud University prepares students to improve livestock production and productivity through knowledge of genetics, breeding, nutrition, diseases, and management of various animals such as cattle, camel, honey bee, poultry, sheep, goat, fish, and beef cattle. The program combines coursework, examinations, projects, and a 300-hour internship in a work environment by the junior year. Students also complete a research project in their senior year. It provides skills in animal health, farm management, veterinary parasitology, rural development, and livestock economics, preparing graduates for roles in research, training, outreach activities, and transforming the livestock sector.

• Hold a Somaliland GCSE certificate of at least Grade “C”, or its equivalent from a recognized examination body.
• Successfully complete a one-year freshman programme at Amoud University, and attained a GPA of at least 2.00.
• Hold a diploma certificate in animal science, agriculture or its equivalent from recognized universities.
• Meet other conditions as spelt out by the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and the department of animal science with approval of the Senate.
