Korean Government Scholarship Program

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is a scholarship program for international applicants who want to apply for undergraduate programs at Seoul National University. The support includes full tuition fee coverage, a monthly allowance, one economy round trip airfare, and Korean language training. It is aimed at international applicants applying for undergraduate programs at Seoul National University. The support covers tuition exemption for 8 semesters, and it also includes a Korean language training period of one year. Korean language training is mandatory, and the scholarship conditions include TOPIK grade requirements related to eligibility to enter the degree program.

Selection is carried out in two stages: applicants submit their applications to Korean embassies in their countries, embassies conduct the first selection, and the National Institute for International Education makes the final selection.

The scholarship provides tuition exemption for 8 semesters and a monthly allowance for living and studying in Korea, including items such as living expenses and textbooks, insurance premiums, and TOPIK-related scholarships. Korean language training lasts one year and is mandatory; if the student does not achieve TOPIK grade 3 within a year, they are not eligible to enter the degree program.
