SK Global Scholarship

The SK Global Scholarship Program is intended for students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in Semiconductor or AI/IT-related fields at Korea University Graduate School in Seoul. It offers selected-region students the opportunity to study and is described as promoting international academic exchange and strengthening mutual understanding between the Republic of Korea and participating regions.

The scholarship is for applicants holding citizenship from eligible regions listed by the program: Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia (Japan and Taiwan, applicable to the Semiconductor field only), and South Asia (India and Pakistan). The program covers master’s study in the AI/IT or Semiconductor tracks at Korea University, with specified departments/majors for AI/IT and specified labs for Semiconductor.

• Citizenship from one of the eligible regions listed for the program (Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia: Japan and Taiwan applicable to the Semiconductor field only, or South Asia: India and Pakistan).
• Parents must hold citizenship from regions other than South Korea.
• If the applicant’s citizenship changes to a region outside the eligible list during the selection process, the applicant is excluded from evaluation.
• Level of education: a bachelor’s degree holder who (are expected to) graduate from university.
• Language proficiency: English or Korean.
• Language proof must be submitted using at least one listed document: TOEFL iBT score report of 71 or higher (Home Edition & Enhancement are acceptable); Academic IELTS 5.5 or higher (IELTS Home Test is NOT acceptable); CEFR level B2 or higher (CEFR Online Test is acceptable); New TEPS 326 or higher; or a TOPIK score report of level 3 or higher.
• If the applicant completed their degree program (BA) in English, they are not required to submit proof of language proficiency.

• Round-trip airfare: 3,000,000 KRW (max.), paid as up to 1.5M max. at initial entry and up to 1.5M max. at final departure; actual expense with airfare receipt required.
• Entrance fee: 1,142,000 KRW, paid beginning of the 1st semester.
• Tuition fee: 7,392,000 KRW × 4 semesters, paid beginning of each semester.
• Living expenses: 1,500,000 KRW per month, paid beginning of each month for the stated duration of 2.
• Medical insurance: standard amount set by Korea University, paid beginning of each month for the stated duration of 2; described as a private insurance plan separate from the National Health Insurance system.
• Korean language training fee: optional, amount that exceeds 1,000,000 KRW set by Korea University; described as paid a month before the 1st semester.

1. Submit an online admission application and required documents.
2. Submit documents for review by the review committee of each department.
3. Wait for the final result release announcing finally selected SK scholars.

• TOEFL iBT score report of 71 or higher (Home Edition & Enhancement are acceptable), OR
• Academic IELTS score report of 5.5 or higher (IELTS Home Test is NOT acceptable), OR
• CEFR level B2 or higher (CEFR Online Test is acceptable), OR
• New TEPS score report of 326 or higher, OR
• TOPIK score report of level 3 or higher.
• Note for applicants: proof of language proficiency is not required if the applicant completed their degree program (BA) in English.
