Bachelor of Education Honours in Drama and Theatre

The Bachelor of Education Honours in Drama and Theatre at the Open University of Sri Lanka is an undergraduate programme for developing competencies to serve as an effective drama and theatre teacher. It supports learners who have the Higher Diploma in Drama and Theatre of the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation, and it can also include those with the Diploma in Teaching (Aesthetic subjects) from the Colleges of Education with minor modifications to the syllabus.

The programme lasts 2 years and includes continuous assessment, teaching practice, project work, and a final examination. It is conducted by the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education in the Faculty of Education, and it focuses on the discipline of Drama and Theatre through programme study and required teaching practice.

A minimum of three (03) passes at any number of sitting at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination, Sri Lanka and, successfully completed in the Higher Diploma in Drama and Theatre of the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation.
