The Bachelor in Life Sciences – Biotechnologie leads to a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, with a specialization in Biotechnologie. The programme focuses on applying modern methods in molecular biology, process technology, and analytics for producing industrially relevant molecules. It combines natural science foundations with engineering practice, including how biological systems can be used to produce industrially relevant molecules such as therapeutic proteins.
Learning takes place in person. Students work in the laboratory from the first day and develop solution approaches while engaging with current research topics. The programme includes 180 ECTS points and offers 6 semesters in full-time study, or up to 12 semesters when studying part-time. An exchange period abroad is possible.
Graduates are prepared for biotechnological research and development, and for production and quality assurance in pharmaceutical companies. The programme also prepares students for tasks in regulated environments, including contexts related to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and biosafety. It can also support work in startups or public institutions focused on life sciences, plus regulatory or advisory functions in biotechnology.
