The Bachelor in Life Sciences – Medizininformatik at the University of Applied Sciences Solothurn Northwestern Switzerland is a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences with a major in Medizininformatik. It combines knowledge from IT, health care, and Data Science so you can develop applications for hospitals, practices, and health prevention. You also work with topics such as Clinical Data Science, E-Health, and decision support.
Teaching is delivered through in-person learning. The programme has 180 ECTS points and includes projects and laboratory exercises with a strong practical focus from the beginning. You write a bachelor thesis on a current practical or research question. The study mode is part-time alongside work, full-time, and a practice-integrated bachelor programme.
After the degree, graduates can analyze, visualize, and interpret complex health data. They can support clinical processes with digital tools and contribute to designing and evaluating E-Health applications. The programme prepares you for work in hospitals and clinics, medtech and E-Health companies, research institutions and universities, and health insurance and public authorities, including start-ups in digital health.
