Bachelor in Life Sciences Chemie

The Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, with the study direction Chemistry, trains you to understand how substances are built and how they react, and to apply this knowledge to develop solutions for people and the environment. The program focuses on applied chemistry and includes specialization in synthesis, analytics, and sustainability of chemistry.

Learning takes place through in-person teaching with modern, equipped laboratories and small classes for intensive supervision. You connect theory and practice from the beginning and work on research and industry projects, often in teams. A placement semester provides direct insight into professional practice. The program is built for part-time/while working and for full-time study.

The degree prepares you for work such as analyzing chemical and biological compounds, developing new and sustainable processes, planning and conducting experiments in research labs and operations, and documenting and interpreting results. Graduates work in areas such as pharma and active ingredient development and production, analytical or materials science labs, quality assurance and process monitoring, research institutions or universities, and technical services and authorities.
