Master in Life Sciences Analytical Chemistry

The Master of Science in Life Sciences – Analytical Chemistry focuses on in-depth knowledge of modern analytical methods and how they are used to investigate biological systems. The programme targets strategies for investigating, identifying and characterising metabolites, biomarkers, proteins, formulations and biological tissues, with core attention on mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. It also covers structural protein analysis, characterisation of solids and biological systems imaging.

Teaching uses English and combines online and onsite learning. The full-time option runs for 3 semesters and the part-time/work-study option runs for 6 semesters. Students complete an eight-month master thesis, often carried out in collaboration with industry partners. The programme also supports international opportunities such as an exchange semester abroad or doing the thesis at partner universities.
