The Master of Science in Life Sciences – Analytical Chemistry is a specialist program for understanding biological systems at the molecular level and using modern analytical methods. It focuses on strategies for investigating, identifying, and characterising metabolites, biomarkers, proteins, formulations, and biological tissues, with core work in mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy.
Teaching is offered in English with onsite and online learning modes. The program runs for 3 semesters full-time or 6 semesters part-time/work-study. Students complete an eight-month master thesis, often with industry partners, and earn a total of 50 ECTS credits (17 modules at 3 ECTS credits each), with additional modules available.
The program prepares students for work in research and industry, including pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies, research and development laboratories, regulatory authorities and certification bodies, and food and environmental analysis.
